Since 2012 the Louvre has been exhibiting Islamic art in a fine piece of architectural work by Rudy Ricciotti and Mario Bellini. It is a very bright and spacious place to walk around in with a golden netted ceiling. The items on display ranged from door- and wall pieces to armaments and pottery, all of it intricately crafted and a lot of items were adorned with gemstones. The amount of detail on the murals and items was amazing. It is a shame that with the current state of the world a lot of cultural sites are being destroyed.
