Snow kisses

“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says “Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.”

Entry to the Weekly Photo Challenge: Half-Light.

The above photos were taken during a (training and catching up with a friend) weekend spent in Lillehammer. We went cross-country skiing around Sjusjøen a few hours both days in excellent weather and skiing conditions, as well as in pleasant company. On the first day we had started rather late, and despite spring and sunshine slowly making their return after many days in the twilight and darkness, we were running out of time to get back to the parking lot while we still would be able to see the paths. We should have packed headlights!
